Can’t Fall Asleep? Try These Tips.

November 3, 2006

A recent analysis of 37 sleep studies that were conducted from 1998 to 2004 has yielded some interesting tips that will hopefully help those of you who have trouble getting to sleep at night:

  •  Go to bed only when you’re sleepy.
  • If you can’t sleep, get out of bed.
  • Use the bedroom only for sleeping (no reading, TV, etc.)
  • Get up at the same time every morning.
  • Don’t nap.

    SLEEPING BETTER NOW

For years my life has been blighted by bad sleep. One particularly bad night recently I gave up trying and went to sleep on the floor downstairs to avoid disturbing my wife. A draught was blowing round the door so I put on a fleece hat and instantly realised that my problem has always been one of feeling insecure/unprotected at night. Having a warm head and something to pull over my eyes has also helped to feel safe and cosy. So far I’ve had 4 pretty good weeks and am starting to get a life back! Try it!
